ARTS AND CRAFTS

The Malagasy are both craftsmen and artists, combining a wealth of creative ideas with high quality production. The result is an exceptional traditional crafts industry that includes: Antemoro paper (Ambalavao and road to Ivato), embroidered tablecloths and lace (Tana and Nosy Be), wickerwork and baskets (Ambositra), leatherwork and zebu hornware, precious stones (Ilakaka), miniature vehicles made from tins, marquetry (Ambositra), duck foie gras (delicious!) and much more.
