NOSY BE
A lush green island surrounded by
a marine paradise. Accessible by plane or boat, Nosy
Be is located 15 km from the northwest coast of Madagascar
in the warm waters of the Mozambique channel. Surrounded
by a number of small islands,
Nosy Be covers an area of 321 sq. km (30 km long by
19 km wide). An island paradise, Nosy Be is also called
«the island of perfumes» because of its
abundance of extraordinary plants, including mango trees,
ravenalas and jackfruit trees.

Places to visit
:
Visit the Androadroatra waterfalls or Mont Passot and
its breathtaking views, tour the sugar plantations of
Djamandjary on the minature railway and the Ylang-Ylang
plantations and distilleries. Other places of interest
are the Oceanographic Museum, the ghost town of Ambanoro,
the Lokobe Reserve, the mausoleums of the Island Queens,
and the islands around Nosy Be.
